Following in the likes of Björk and Ásgeir, some more catchy folk-pop from Icelandic newcomer Júníus Meyvant. Check out that hair/beard combo.
Prince-SNL Medley feat. “Anotherlove”
We are in a golden age of music on Late Night TV shows. However, this could be the greatest guitar solo/performance ever on SNL (opinion).
Father John Misty- Bored in The USA
After releasing one of the best albums of 2012 (opinion) FJM is back with new music. Yesterday, he performed “Bored in The USA” on Letterman with a 22 piece string band. This song, which appears to riff on the classic Springsteen song of a similar name, will be featured on the album I Love You, Honeybear out February 9th on Sub Pop. Now we just his former band Fleet Foxes to put out some new tunes.
Damien Rice- My Favorite Faded Fantasy
You can now preview the album at NPR.
Also here’s the third single The Greatest Bastard:
Youandewan- “93”
The song is a little old, (circa 2010), but still sounds brand new. With this track from Youandewan, I hear the electronic stability of Bonobo, Chick Corea-like piano trills, and the subtle house of Duke Dumont. I could see this in a scene from Ocean’s Fourteen.
Jameson Burt-“Breathe Your Last”
Jameson’s Burt’s humble beginnings began when he picked up a banjo in 2012 while working at a fruit stand. Here is the first single off his premiere EP “Carnivore.”
“Sleepy Eyes” – SPIRE
Slow-paced, psychedelic rock from Brooklyn band SPIRE. Happy Halloween.
Bing and Ruth-“Tomorrow was the Golden Age”
Sometimes you need a moment to let go.
Ex Hex- “Beast”
Some Alternative 70’s British Rock, and the band happens to be made up of 3 girls…
