Jackson Browne- A Long Way Round
His prime of “Doctor My Eyes,” “The Pretender” and “These Days” may be behind him, but his voice still has not changed even at 65 years old. After seeing him perform at the Beacon Theater last night, I was inspired to share this song off the new album “Standing in the Breach.” Here is his NPR Tiny Desk acoustic version of “A Long Way Round.”

Damien Rice- I Don’t Want to Change You
Rick Rubin, A.K.A. The Man With the Best Job in the World, is producing Damien Rice’s new album, titled “My Favorite Faded Fantasy.” Here is the first cut- a stunning ballad from the Irishman.
The New Basement Tapes- When I get My Hands on You
Here’s something worth paying attention to- T Bone Burnett, Elvis Costello, Rhiannon Giddens (Carolina Chocolate Drops), Taylor Goldsmith (Dawes), Jim James (My Morning Jacket) and Marcus Mumford (Mumford & Sons) recorded an album together. If that’s not enough (it is), apparently all of the lyrics come from unused songs written by Bob Dylan during his Basement Tape sessions. Ok.
This is our first taste of the album:
The Barr Brothers- Love Ain’t Enough
The third single off The Barr Brothers upcoming album “Sleeping Operator” is closer to a rock anthem than it is to their typical folky fare. The Montreal band is pushing their sound on the new album, and the results are nothing but positive so far.
